Three Days Tour Nauplio - Olympia
1ST DAY:
We leave by the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean with the Ionia Sea.
Shortly there after we reach the ancient town of Corinth where St.Paul lived and preached for two years. In the ancient times Corinth was amongst the richest cities and this is quite evident by its remains, including the huge agora and Apollo’s Temple of the 6th century B.C. We continue on to Mycenae and visit the Archeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon.
After visiting the site of Mycenae we will drive to the town of Nauplion; where we will rest for a while at the hotel, have lunch and we will go by car and visit the Theatre of Epidauros , famous, all around the world, for its remarkable acoustics.
After the visit to the Theatre, we will return to Nauplion. Nauplion (Nafplio) was the first capital of Greece in 1832 and was called by the Venetians the Naples of Greece crowned by its Venetian Fortress. We will enjoy dinner and stay overnight.
2ND DAY:
NAUPLIA – Morning at leisure and then depart for OLYMPIA through the central Peloponnese area passing the cites of MEGALOPOLIS and TRIPOLIS. We arrive in OLYMPIA. Arriving at Olympia we will rest at the hotel and have lunch. Afterwards we will visit the Archeological site with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus and the Ancient Stadium. We will enjoy dinner and stay overnight.
3RD DAY:
OLYMPIA – In the morning we will visit the Archeological Museum and in this tour you will have the afternoon free in order to see and enjoy more the picturesque town of OLYMPIA. Then start the drive back to Athens via PATRAS.
